Are soft leather baby shoes, Jack & Lily's, good to buy for a newborn? Are they good for baby gifts?

We purchased leather baby shoes for our son. They are Jack and Lily baby shoes. Are these good shoes, if not what would you recommend? Here%26#039;s the link from where we purchased them from: http://bestninemonths.com/baby_boy_shoes...

Are soft leather baby shoes, Jack %26amp; Lily%26#039;s, good to buy for a newborn? Are they good for baby gifts?
Soft leather shoes are fine for a babies feet. It%26#039;s not the shoe that is the problem with learning to walk - it%26#039;s the fact that babies feet constantly are growing %26amp; shrinking, and hard shoes don%26#039;t allow for the growth of their feet (yes this all happens in the space of an hour).

Robeeze are fantastic - as long as your babies feet are big enough to fit - there is no point if the shoe will just fall off!!

To keep their feet warm I liked socks %26amp; slippers, or just sleepers with feet. Worked just as well, and then when they were old enough (around 6 months), then we put the Robeeze on them. Whatever works.
Reply:Yes, those are great for small feet. You can also try Robeez shoes, which are about the same. Actually you will have a hard time keeping any type of shoe on a newborns feet since they are so tiny. They don%26#039;t start to fit even crib shoes (in my experience) until they are a month or two. So, in my opinion, don%26#039;t go shoe crazy on newborn shoes, wait a couple months first. :) Then do all the shoe shopping your wallet can manage, lol.
Reply:why would a newborn want to wear shoes?! aren%26#039;t their feet so so SOOOO fragile as is and you want to weigh it down with a shoe? its not like a new born can walk or take pictures up right with shoes?
Reply:i never used shoes on any of my children until they were already used to walking. shoes are not necessary and some doctors will even tell you that shoes will slow down their ability to learn how to walk.
Reply:I guess you could buy whatever you wanted for your baby or any baby but why would you spend alot of money on items that the baby wouldn%26#039;t get alot of use from? Babies grow too fast to invest in very expensive items. You only end up passing down the items you barely used.

In my opinion a newborn needs t-shirts, sleepers, socks and diapers. Maybe a couple of nice outfits for an outing. Anything more than that is wasteful.
Reply:dont put any shoes on a baby till they r 1 year old,
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t put any shoes on a newborn. There is no reason for it and I certainly wouldn%26#039;t buy newborn shoes for $24 dollars. Even though it says 0-6 months doesn%26#039;t mean the baby can wear then until 6 months. My kids came out and their feet were to big...
Reply:yes they are good shoes but dont put shoes on a new born baby wait untill they are 6 or 7 months old.
Reply:Jack and Lily have adorable shoes for kids and while they%26#039;re cute, they%26#039;re not practical for newborns, especially at the price you pay. Around our area they%26#039;re $30.00.

Perhaps a gift certificate to Jack and Lily%26#039;s would be an idea so the parents can choose a pair at a later date when their little one begins to use shoes. Just a suggestion!

Just adding this having checked the site you posted..try going to Jackandlily.com and compare prices.I think a gift card/certificate would be better used at a later date.
Reply:These shoes are a godsend! Babies feet get cold and their socks come off constantly! I started putting them on my daughter as soon as she was born (since it was Dec and very cold outside).

Also, you could buy a gift set of different sizes, since the little feet grow so fast. My child still wears them sometimes at 18 months since they are the easiest to walk in. Also, when your baby is just starting to walk these are much safer then reg shoes.
Reply:YES THEY ARE FINE...AND THEY LOOK WAY BETTER THAN THOSE SOCK BOOTIES
Reply:The only time to put shoes on kid is when they start to stand or walk the shoes help with balance
Reply:pls dont try to wear shoe for your baby.if you want to keep warm for their foot. just ware sock will do.
Reply:It sometimes is a waste of money to buy babies that cant walk yet shoes. I%26#039;m sure you could buy them something they need more than baby shoes..they might never use
