What part of a Peace lily is Poisonous to animals?

Is it the flower, the leaves, or just the whole thing?

I just got one for Valentines day, and my cat loves eating plant leaves, should I get another plant to distract her from the peace lily, or are the leaves safe? I%26#039;m keeping it away from her for now.

i believe its the flower so i say the whole thing
Reply:Hi,

I%26#039;m afraid it%26#039;s the entire plant. The gastrointestinal tract is effected by the plants toxins. It can also cause dermatitis. Keep it away from your kitty!
Reply:The whole thing
Reply:all of the plant is
Reply:According to the following website the leaves are the poisonous part.

If you wish to attract the cat%26#039;s attention elsewhere then you should get some catnip. Its an herb cats love it (unless u have a Siamese) they seem to kinda ignore it.http://www.holoweb.com/cannon/catnip.htm
