Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows? Snape & Lily?

In all the 7 years, why didn%26#039;t anyone tell Harry that Snape %26amp; Lily were best friends? I think that someone could have mentioned this?

%26amp; What happened to the Dursley%26#039;s? Where did they hide?

Thanks

Harry Potter %26amp; the Deathly Hallows? Snape %26amp; Lily?
I think that this could have been easily incorporated in the book. It%26#039;s just that JKR didn%26#039;t want to clue us in onto Snape%26#039;s undying love for Lily.

Dursley%26#039;s may have had there memories modified like Hermione%26#039;s parents, %26amp; sent to a foriegn country to protect them. %26amp; later when everything was sorted out, they might%26#039;ve been brought back to No. 4, Privet Drive.

%26amp; I also like to believe that Harry %26amp; Dudley kept in touch.
Reply:snape never told anyone, except dumbledore... and who cares where the dursleys hid... it%26#039;s called harry potter and the __________, not the dursleys and _________.
Reply:Because pretty much no one ever talks to Harry about his mother.

The only people who would have known about the friendship would have been those who were at school with them, and that means Lupin and Sirius. Sirius never gives Harry any info about his mother, and Lupin is vague (typical of him). People like Mrs Weasley wouldn%26#039;t have known about it, probably, because they were not at Hogwarts with them (much, much older). Some younger characters, like Bill Weasley, might have been at school during Snape%26#039;s last year(s) at Hogwarts, but by then there was nothing to see and/or they would have been too young to pay attention to the friendships of upper classmen. Teachers, like McGonagall, probably didn%26#039;t really keep track of friendships unless there was a big reason to.

I agree it%26#039;s kind of a minor plot hole. A lot of things were done like that, actually. Remember how no one mentioned Lupin while raving about what great friends James, Sirius, and Peter were?
Reply:There was no one to tell him.

Sirius had a hatred for Snape, and he was killed by Bellatrix. Dumbledore swore not to tell anything, and he was killed by Snape himself. Lupin, well, he%26#039;s just blur.

The Dursleys I guess were hidden away safely and it was really sweet to see them finally sort of accept Harry as part of the family.
Reply:By the time Harry came to Hogwarts, her parents%26#039; contemporaries weren%26#039;t around anymore. Snape%26#039;s %26quot;friends%26quot; were Death Eaters, so no way would he learn it from them. Sirius knew but his hatred of Snape overcame any other issues. Lupin knew, but he had his own troubles to think of. Dumbledore knew but Snape made him promise not to tell Harry that he was in with Dumbledore in protecting Harry. So, who could have told him about it?

The Dursleys came back to Privet Drive after all was well but JKR didn%26#039;t mention where they were hidden.
Reply:Snape made Dumbledore swear that he would not tell anyone, ESPECIALLY Harry, about how he loved Lily, or even had any connection to her.

I don%26#039;t know about the Dursleys, sorry, I was wondering the same.
Reply:Well the 5th books explained it a little. Like when Lily prevent james from bullying him. But Snape refuses harshly. Come to think of it, stranger wouldn%26#039;t %26quot;help%26quot; each other, right? It made me think that Lily might have connection with Snape.
