What disease is killing my peace lily?

My peace lily%26#039;s leaves are drying out, starting from the edges and working their way in, and crumbeling and falling off. Whats the problem?

What disease is killing my peace lily?
Peace Lily can tolerate much less light than nursery conditions, but the brighter the better for location. Keep away from drafts and cold.

Is yours in a draft or getting chilled Aaron?

Also, keep your leaves clean with water washes to remove dust and dirt. Peace Lily can attract mites, scales and mealy bugs so cleaning will help keep pests away.

Reply:It is most likely not a disease. Try some fertelizer in the soil. Most likely it is needing iron. It might take a few weeks for it to get better. Fertilizers in stores such as Walmart are good because they have just enough nutrients in them for the plant. Give them enough water to keep them hydrated but not enough to drown them.

Good LUCK!
Reply:Either A%26gt; It needs more water, in which case it will have wilted before it started dying.

B%26gt; It is over watered, in which case the roots are rotted and it is causing it to die.

Leaves on the bottom level often will shrivel up to make room for new growth.

The only other reason is because the air is so dry that some of the leaves are unable to maintain moisture. Mist the leaves with a spray bottle and wipe them down, top and bottom, with a damp towel.
