How do you prune a snowflake water lily? It is vinelike, not single stem.?

It is like a vine, one leaf grows out of another, not like the other lillies that each leaf comes off its own stalk. A secondary problem is the little %26quot;snowflake%26quot; flowers that grow off each pad, up to 20 sometimes, die and then just lay in the water off the pad. It is making a place for algea to collect and I don%26#039;t know how to prune it . I cut the stem all the way at the base for a regular lily.

i just hand pick all the old leaves and spent flowers every so often

and because it grows so fast, sometimes i just grab handfuls and throw it away
Reply:dont know
Reply:Seems to me that I have heard that you have to prune below the water level.

Not sure, good luck.
