How hard is it to get a Lily on Nintendogs?

I want to get the orange lily for my shetland sheepdog. Firstly, you do get it on a walk, right? And second, about how long does it take to find it?

The Lily can only be obtained while on a walk. It%26#039;s not a common item, but it%26#039;s not terribly rare, either. You%26#039;ll have a better chance of finding it if you%26#039;ve spent a lot of time with your dog and pet him/her, making sure the sparkles show up about two or three times, before you go on a walk.





Alternately, if you have a friend who has Nintendogs and has a spare Lily, have your friend give it to you in Bark Mode. I have two or three of them, and only need one...
