Who has a theory as to why Harry Potter having Lily's eyes is significant?

According to some sites, they say that J.K Rowling has stated that there is a reason as to why Harry Potter has Lily%26#039;s eye colour.

Who has a theory as to why Harry Potter having Lily%26#039;s eyes is significant?
It may be significant if Harry comes down to a final confrontation with somebody who knew (and perhaps had strong feelings about) his mother-- looking into Harry%26#039;s eyes, and being reminded of Lily could be decisive.

For example: Snape...
Reply:i have a couple they are alittle odd but yeah, oh and your right there is something significant about it.

one is that lily has some magic in her. were she has some ancestories that were magical.

another is that he tends to be more like his mother then father. were he is a protector like lily was in OP in snapes memory.

there are a ton more. go onto www.harrypotterspage.com and go to the forum and you will find all kinds of places to put theories and ask questions.
Reply:And what reason would that be? Black hair and green eyes makes for a very striking visage. It doesn%26#039;t %26quot;mean%26quot; anything other than the visually appealing.
Reply:I think some HP fansites look into some things a little too much, such as Harry%26#039;s eye color. Wasn%26#039;t Lily his biological mother? So why WOULDN%26#039;T he have her eyes?

But then again, Rowling is known for surprising her readers by emphasizing the little inconspicuous things in her story. Perhaps it will have something to do with Harry%26#039;s heritage/ or genealogical line. It is stated at the end of the 2nd-to-last book, that Harry wants to go back to Godric%26#039;s Hollow, the last home of his parents. Of course it can%26#039;t be missed that the Hollow is named after Godric Gryffindor. Perhaps an ancestor? And it doesn%26#039;t even have to necessarily be Gryffindor! Anyway, the book will come out soon, so hope for the best that your question will really be answered by then. If not, then oweels!
Reply:Ok, here%26#039;s my theory and I%26#039;m gonna get folks giving me a thumb down for it. His green eyes are significant cause they mean Lily is his mom and not some other woman. Stop and think about it, everyone who knew James and Lily are always telling Harry he looks just like his father. Except for his eyes, he%26#039;s got his mother%26#039;s eyes. Seems the big reason Rowling is saying this is genetics, she%26#039;s clearly made him resemble his father physically so his eyes are a physical resemblence to his mother.

Who%26#039;s ever heard people say either to them or about someone else that they have something like their father%26#039;s nose and their mother%26#039;s chin. Or other facial features and such. My baby sister wondered for years if she was adopted or something cause of her blonde hair and blue eyes, no one else in the immediate family has those features and she doesn%26#039;t really look like us. Guess my mom must have wondered if she and dad had brought home the wrong baby from the hospital cause it wasn%26#039;t until my sister was in her teens that she finally noticed in her ears looked just like one of our maternal great-grandfathers%26#039;. Pretty much some kind of biological proof that she really is related to the rest of the family.

And that%26#039;s what I%26#039;m getting at with Rowling mentioning Harry%26#039;s eyes being green like his mom%26#039;s.
Reply:because the authors wants to say that Harry gets many of his characteristics from his mother and u understand from 5Th book that she was brave and in literature,in all over the world,

eyes of one character show his feelings %26amp;features.

an other important thing is that people in story can remember

Lily by watching Harry %26amp;remember that she was a big woman!
