Naming my baby girl - Lily, Ella, Olivia or other?!?

I%26#039;m due in three months and I%26#039;m trying to think of the perfect name for her. I don%26#039;t want any names too outlandish, but also not a completely unoriginal name - I want a name that is classic and will be perfect for both a young girl %26amp; when she%26#039;s older!





My surname is Jones %26amp; I%26#039;m currently flitting between the names:





Lily Grace


Olivia Grace


Ella Rose


Emily Rose


Isabelle (nn Elle/Ella) Olivia


Eloise (nn Elle/Ella) Sophie





Which of those do people prefer? or maybe you prefer a different combination of the above? Please help!!

Reply:Olivia, Maddie, Shay, Gabriella, Elizabeth, Hayley and Hollie are my favorite names for girls. Olivia Grace would be nice. My friend had a baby named Haily Grace and called her Gracie.

I personally like the name Eloise best. You could buy her the Eloise books also.





The name Olivia is the character of a Pig in children books (Olivia the pig) and I would hate for her to be teased or given a nickname because of it.





I like Grace as a middle name.





What about Sophie Grace?

That is the one that I like that best, I am not sure that I would call her that, just call her Emily. Then do like my parents did and like most do is when she is in trouble then say the full name. I hope your baby is beautiful!

Reply:I love Eloise Sophia -- I don%26#039;t think Sophie flows as well, but I do love that name, too. I think they%26#039;re all really great names, but I wouldn%26#039;t use Olivia or Isabelle because they%26#039;re both very popular right now.
Reply:All great names, though as I have noticed in my day to day work with young kids, all of these names are extremely popular right now. Try looking at naming trends, if you want to be sure your daughter%26#039;s name is not super high and the current lists. Great book called the Baby Name Wizard (tehy have a website, too) show all the trends currently and in years past. They have a whole section with many great classic, old fashioned names in the same style as the ones you have selected. :) Good luck and congrats!
