Millie/Lily and bullying? rhyming?

these are very pretty names, but lets face it kids can be cruel and rhyming is a sure fire way to bullying.

has anyone ever heard of a Millie/Lily being called:

Millie willy

Millie mouse

Silly Millie

etc....

i dont want to consider a name that could get my kid bullied even if its pretty

Millie/Lily and bullying? rhyming?
Millie or Lily both are nice names and dont worry about the bullying.
Reply:Any name can get your kid bullied, it kids want to bully someone they will find a way. Lily is a beautiful name. I would choose Millicent and use Millie as a nickname-more options that way.
Reply:My first response is that any name can be used to tease. My name is Lisa and I%26#039;ve been called Lisa Pizza, etc. It never hurt my feelings. I have not necessarily heard Millie/Lilly used in a teasing bullying way. Although I did think of Chilly Millie! Again, any name can be twisted to make a joke of. I understand your concern, but perhaps try not to think it through quite so much. Just stay away from the obvious names you have heard through the years that kids have used to tease with . . . Of the two, I%26#039;d go with Lily. :-) Good Luck!
Reply:I know a Milly who is an adult who is very well adjusted and confident, and a child named lily who doesnot get teased for her name.
Reply:You can make up something for any name....if you like them, go for it....I personally love the name Lily
Reply:I agree with the others - no matter what you name your child, a bully will find a way to pick on him or her regardless. Name your child whatever you like.
Reply:My little Beagle is named Millie, and I called her Silly Millie at times. Her name is Millie Rose.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know any Millie and Lily%26#039;s so I can%26#039;t comment on the bullying. At this rate there%26#039;s likely to be a small army of Milly, Lily and Tilly%26#039;s in the playground, so I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much about rhyming teasing. The Milly Willy thing is probably the worst
Reply:Well, the thing is, ANY name can be bullied..

My name is Sara and I got teased about that a lot when I was smaller.. My neighbors when I were small, Katie, William and Skyler all got teased about their names too.
Reply:I doubt those would be an issue for a reasonably popular, well-adjusted kid. If your child is a bit of a dork or a loner, she might hear some of those taunts. I don%26#039;t think they%26#039;re anything you need to worry about. This falls under %26quot;kids will find something to tease about if the kid is teaseworthy.%26quot; Lily is very popular, so I doubt it would cause problems without extenuating circumstances. Thousands of parents are naming their kids El-somethingorother without being concerned that she%26#039;ll be Smelly Ellie. If you love Lillian or Amelia, use it.
Reply:well ive never heard of it but if you call a boy william he will probley get called willy
Reply:no matter the name, kids will find a way to pick on others. Like you said, kids can be cruel, Silly Millie isn%26#039;t that bad though - it%26#039;s kinda cute.
Reply:Kids can find a way to pick on any name if they don%26#039;y like a person!
Reply:i%26#039;ve heard of Silly Milly but thats about it. it is very pretty and even though kids like to use rhyming as a method of bulling, that really shouldnt stop you from using a name that you like. of course kids will always find other ways of bulling each other.
Reply:Kids can find ways to tease regardless of a name.
