Lily of the Valley in pots?

I've researched "answers", but didn't find what I was looking for. Due to a physical problem, I had to plant my lilies of the valley in pots; and according to the Wayside Gardens website, pots are acceptable. Do I have to bring them in the garage or the basement for winter?

Depending on your gardening zone, it might not hurt to bring them into an unheated garage and put them back outside in the spring. Give them a drink every couple of weeks to keep them from drying out.

Reply:i live in zone 3( wich is pretty cold ) and we have them growing everywhere every year, so i dont see why you have to bring them inside for the winter...
Reply:Lily of the Valley don't do well in mild climates, they need a winter chill, so leaving them in an unheated garage will work. I always keep some in pots as well but I do it so I can force them into bloom in mid winter with Amaryllis, crocus and daffodils. RScott
