Do u think Snape being emotionaly involved w/ Lily Evans was relevent to the story line or ending?

I most definetly think it did. Snape sacrificed his life 4 harry BECAUSE OF Lily. It brought yet another twist to the book and something 2 ponder about.

Do u think Snape being emotionaly involved w/ Lily Evans was relevent to the story line or ending?
yes it is ..

in-fact .. Snape protected Harry only because he loved Lily....

and the reason Lord Voldemort gave Lily the choice to flee is only because Snape asked him .. and remember when Snape told Harry to look in his eye's .. because he can see Lily in them .. and the one thing i bet Snape regrets is him running off telling Lord Voldemort about the prophecy without realizing that it might get Lily killed.. ans Snape helped Harry by giving him his memories ...^_^

so yes it's VERY important !

^_^
Reply:I think it was very important. Because if Snape hadn't loved Lily Harry would've been dead back in GOF. It was because of his love that he became a double agent for the Order and it's because of this undying love that Snape didn't kill Harry at the numerous chances he had over the course of 7 years.
Reply:Yes definetly because he hated James Potter and if he hated Lily that much he wouldnt have sacrificed his life for Harry. I love the books.
Reply:of course, because dumbledore would not have trusted snape if he didnt love lily. also, he would never had protected harry, the only reason he did was because he was lilys son
Reply:Yes

Definitely

If he hadn't felt so strongly for Lily, he wouldn't have protected Harry throughout his school years and he might even have died in the first book at Quirrels' hands...leaving us with no story!

=)
Reply:of course it is. It explains why Snape turned against Voldemort, and it explains Snape's attitude towards Harry, his mixture of dislike and protectiveness, he hates Harry because he reminds him of Harry's dad, but at the same time looks after him for Lily's sake.

I think it is a bit sad that Snape could not have been friends with Harry, if he had only understood that Harry is really much more like his mother than his father, he might have been able to communicate with him better.
Reply:Absolutely. Just think about it. First, Snape overhears the prophecy and runs off and tell Voldemort about it, not realising that he's about to have Lily killed. Then, after Voldemort's downfall, Snape hates himself for betraying Lily and her family to Voldemort and agrees to do whatever Dumbledore wants so as to avenge her death. Then, just as he is about to die after having that horrible snake, Nagini, bite him and leave him for dead, the last thing he does is to ensure that Harry gets the information he so desperately needs by giving him his memories.

Snape was a hero!

:)
Reply:it suprised me and then i thought snape was wicked after that, i love them books dunno why,

his good and was just following dumbeldores orders
Reply:i agree with you it explained a lot
Reply:i agree it was a crucial part to the story
Reply:well it wasnt what i expected and whilst reading through all the hp books i kept changing my mind as to whether snape was one of the good guys or bad guys, i think it definately explained alot and was sooo not what i expected
Reply:Yes, I think so. It gave Snape more humanity and depth. Before, he was kind of two dimensional so it made his death seem more tragic.
Reply:Yeah definitely. It certainly wasn't what I was expecting. There are things that I'm still confused about though. E.g was snape part evil or not?
