Do you think Harry Potter's cat (which Lily mentioned to in her letter to Sirius) was Crookshanks?

and if not i wonder what happened to it.


maybe it was Lily's pet when she was at Hogwarts.

i never thought about it...but now that u mentioned it...maybe...because crookshanks recognized wormtail for wat he really was (peter pettigrew) and he recognized sirius...but idk...maybe it's also because he was part kneazle...and if he was the cat that lily had wouldnt he recognized wormtail and padfoot right away? because sirius mentioned that it took crookshanks a while to warm up to him before they ended up being friends and crookshanks begin to help him...i really have no idea...i guess we just have to wait til the encyclopedia comes out (according to mugglenet, jk said she might write a hp encyclopedia).

Reply:No, that is not possible. Crookshanks makes a brief appearance in Deathly Hallows...he was living at The Burrow with the Weasleys.

Reply:I never thought about that...and yes, our cats don't live that long, but this is the wizarding world so maybe the animals age a bit differently like the wizards maybe? If that were so, then it could have been possible it was lily's cat...but probably not...an interesting theory though. :)

Reply:that would be a really old cat..it would be over 17 years old and usually cats dont live that long...i think
