Will freshly planted calla lily bulbs last through cold weather?

I planted some calla lily bulbs during some recent 80 degree weather. Within the last week, though, we%26#039;ve had temparatures down in the 30%26#039;s. Will this have killed the bulbs or should I leave them and see what happens when it warms back up?

No, temps in the 30%26#039;s will not hurt your calla lilies.

I live in California and leave my calla lilies in the ground year round. We had 10 days of frost/freezing this winter and I have a yard full of calla lilies right now.

After your calla lilies come up, if you have a frost the leaves may fall over. But new ones will come up soon!

Good Luck!
Reply:If your soil freezes deeply, you must lift your bulbs in winter. However, if the soil was thawed enough for you to plant in and the bulbs hadn%26#039;t yet produced leaves or sprouts, they won%26#039;t be exposed until they%26#039;ve grown roots and sprouts.
