Why does my peace lily plant get brown tips on the end of the leaves?

Everyone says the peace lily is easy to grow, but my plant gets brown on the tip of the leaf. Am I watering too much, too little, not enough sun? It is getting new leaves that are green and healthy, but evenutally this happens to them.

Why does my peace lily plant get brown tips on the end of the leaves?
I am the voice of dissent. Peace Lily (Spathephyllum) is the plant that they used in those beta-bowls... the plant that was set into the water, bare roots. Peace lily is an exceptionally thirsty plant, in some cases I recommend setting it into a deep saucer of water, to keep it almost wet at all times.

Many plants are easily damaged by too much chlorine or fluoride in the water. In most municipalities this is added. Leave your watering can out over night full of water. Chlorine evaporates at room temperature. That will help. Or use rain water (melted snow) that%26#039;s even better. Never allow the Peace lily to wilt.

I would just like to add, Peace lily is damaged by direct hot sun, although in most typical house settings this is near impossible. I can%26#039;t dismiss the possibility that it could be sun burn, or heat damage from a heating vent etc.

Cut off the dead tips, following the margins of the leaves, to keep the same sort of shape. If the leaf is too far gone, remove it close to the soil line.

I hope that this helps

Good luck-
Reply:either water damage or leaves have been exposed to sun,or touching something
Reply:Most of these other answers are correct. Too much water. Make sure the plant isn%26#039;t root bound and any flowering plants love fertilizers 2 times a year. A good 20/20/20 fertilizer will help. Peace lily%26#039;s like morning sun but not direct.
Reply:It is called a peace lilly or spathyphyllum. You can tell when your peace lilly needs watered, it will droop some. This will be a good way to determine if it really needs to be watered. Do not give direct sun light. Filtered light is best. The brown leaves; just cut them off. Water around the dirt not on the plant itself.

I posted a link that will be more helpful than my answer.

Good luck
Reply:Watering too much, peace lilies are better when almost neglected.
Reply:water let soil dry completely and filtered light, talk to your plant tell it what you expect of it let it know you love and care if it%26#039;s sick let it know you want to know
