Reply:i think they are ok - they got a defined style about them both and they appeal to a wide range of tastes - not all tastes though but at least its not some divvy rapper like j-kwon or some band no one has ever heard of like normal ;-)

Reply:Hello.A 53 year old numpty here.Whilst I like the few songs of Lily Allen that I've heard and which are quite catchy (and rude as in "Alfie"), my preference would be for Amy Swinehouse! She has a very soulful voice but not very good diction with which to understand her songs with. I find I have to listen to her songs several times with lyric sheets in front of me,to understand what she is actually singing. However,if there is someone who should win it,that would be Corrine Bailey-Rae! Hope that helps! Alan L.

Lily Allen? She doesn't sing songs, she speaks them. She wouldn't have got past the first round on X-Factor due to her crap voice. She only got where she is because her father is an actor with connections and her mother is a producer. Now Lilly Allen's brother has got a part on a Casualty offhsoot! My God, what shameless nepotism.

Reply:I've been a fan of Amy's for years and I can understand why people don't appreciate her 'grubby' image. But she has a great voice and I think the Yanks appreciate her f**k you attitude. Lily is fun, a bit of a 'pop' version of la winehouse but here's to Brits doing it over the pond!

Reply:well lily is just a bit of fun, both in attitude and music and as for amy well she used to annoy the hell out of me until i actually listened to some of her music and it's good. All these awards are meaningless most tend to go the biggest selling artists whether the music was the best or not, although whose music is the best is so subjective anyway even that's impossible to judge. it doesn't matter how many awards we win, britain is producing some good stuff at the mo
